There's a low spot in my driveway
And each morning, there go I
To make sure it's full of water
Then I watch as in they fly
Birds of every color and species
Fly in to take their morning bath
And ignore the filled up basins
That sit along the garden path
Mrs. Mourning Dove just sits there
In the middle, holding court
As the others stand along the edge
These birds of every sort
There's a Goldfinch and a Starling
Redwinged Blackbird and a Raven
Cardinals, Bluejays, many Robins
Come to bathe in this safe haven
Every summer it's a pleasure
To escape from worldly muddle
By quietly sitting and clearing my mind
And watch the birds bathe in a puddle
