A quiet house sits neatly on its lot,
No sound of children there, have they forgot?
No guests fill the dining room chairs,
They sit unused as if no one cares.
The upstairs bedrooms are quiet as well,
No youngsters saying, "Leave me alone or I'll tell.
The kitchen is neat as a pin without a crumb,
No big meals are cooking on the stove for company to come.
Mom and Dad are sitting alone in the living room,
The TV blearing some blather and doom.
Outside the sun is brightly shining as if to say,
"Forget the inside, and come out to play".
