November is an enigma
Crisp leaves brighten the landscape
In brilliant colors that cause you to squint
As sunlight strikes the reds and golds.
The grass is still green, but no longer growing
A dried up rosebud clings to the bush
The firethorn shrub sports orange berries
But the trees are bare and desolate.
Some sunny days, some dark and dreary
November cannot make up its mind
Whether to look brilliantly beautiful
Or wretchedly forlorn.
